Over 50 high school and transfer students attended the second annual California Private College is Possible Spring College Fair on June 18. Students and their families were able to meet with and collect resources from 21 private, nonprofit colleges and universities in California.
The event was hosted at Occidental College this year, following its successful launch at Santa Clara University in 2023. Students were able to speak directly with college representatives to discover which institutions matched their needs and interests, such as specific academic programs or student support services. They also had the opportunity to tour the Occidental campus.
“We are excited to bring this event to a different campus each year,” said AICCU President Kristen Soares. “This allows students to not only learn more about what’s offered at several of our institutions at the same time, but they can also physically see themselves attending a private college as they walk through the host campus.”
The college fair is just one of the many events offered through the California Private College is Possible (CPCP) initiative, which provides students, families, and counselors with valuable information such as admission requirements, financial aid resources, and other critical information needed when applying to independent California colleges and universities. A comprehensive outlook at participating institutions is made readily available at the CPCP Resource Center.
